Jake Mundle

Jake Mundle began serving Grace in June of 2020.  He and his wife, Shelby, have two children, Ellie and Lucy.  Jake loves spending time with his family, studying theology, and watching pretty much any sporting event he can find—he is determined to instill that love of sports in his craft-and-dance-loving daughters too, even if it takes the next 18 years to do so. Shelby, a former English teacher, currently works in the Department of Student Success at Maryville University helping first year students find their footing in college.

Jake grew up in the Baptist tradition but found himself turning toward Presbyterianism toward the end of his undergraduate degree at Missouri Baptist University. Upon graduation, Jake attended Covenant Theological Seminary and obtained a Master of Divinity. In the past, Jake has worked as a Pastoral Assistant in the local church and a Ministry Support Specialist at Stephen Ministries, a nonprofit that works to equip churches to provide high-level lay counselling to their congregants.

One of the most meaningful aspects of Jake’s job at Grace is walking with people through their faith and wrestling with the doubts and questions they might have. Saint Augustine is a hero of his, and he resonates with the quote, “our hearts are restless until they rest in [God].” His hope is that his service points people to their true rest in Jesus Christ.
